“Picture a loop with data in the center, encircled by the numerous participants at a typical healthcare practice—physicians, clinicians, administrators, even patients,” says Pat McGonigle, President and CEO, MedInformatix. “Everyone gets access to the same data to gain benefits based on their own needs and interests.” Today’s healthcare practices are indeed grappling with a confluence of data across multiple systems, generally with charts documented in varying degrees of consistency. There is a mission and the life-critical challenge of putting the data to use for real-time decision-making in a way that benefits everyone involved, ultimately the patient. MedInformatix is committed to the use of artificial intelligence and machine learning to provide healthcare practices across the medical spectrum access to the data collected at the practice level. The company specializes in Radiology Information System (RIS), Electronic Health Records (EHR) and Enterprise Practice Management (EPM) solutions, which are physician, patient, and practice centric across the continuum of today’s healthcare.
“MedInformatix forms a loop of actionable data among physicians, patients, and the practice, strengthening the physician-patient relationship and delivering a higher quality of healthcare,” asserts McGonigle. The MedInformatix RIS and EPM suite are designed as a single database solution from the ground up. This design allows a seamless flow of intelligence between the administrative and clinical functions of a practice. Once data is entered into the system it is immediately available to everyone using it through easy to access Patient and Provider portals. Intuitive dashboard reporting capabilities enable practices to easily analyze key performance indicators virtually on-demand. McGonigle says being able to leverage this intelligence puts the power back in the practices’ hands and allows physicians to make meaningful connections to their patients, thereby increasing the quality and efficiency of care.”

Indeed, the MedInformatix Loop of Actionable Data has become an important touch point for MedInformatix and its clients. One such client, one of the country’s largest providers of outpatient radiologic services, wanted to upgrade its cumbersome technology platform to keep pace with unprecedented growth and achieve optimal revenue cycle management. The practice was looking for a new RIS capable of integrating with its existing technology partners while streamlining the practice’s business intelligence across the eligibility verification, claims management, electronic statement, and remittance functions. MedInformatix won the business, in part, due to its ability to interface with any enterprise partner seamlessly, as well as the comprehensive attributes of the MedInformatix technology platform which includes integrated imaging workflow, billing, and scanning in a single system using a single database. Within two weeks of the implementation of the MedInformatix solution, cash flows at the practice had returned to normal. After just 30 days, the practice experienced an increase in the creation of patient payment plans, a spike in monthly plan collections, and a boost in revenue, with a decline in payment delinquencies. Access to actionable data was key to the practice’s ability to so quickly experience such a positive boost.
Forging New Frontiers
McGonigle believes MedInformatix has a responsibility to use its expertise in a way that makes the delivery of healthcare more effective and efficient. His technology and product development teams are in a continuous state of innovation to help shape the future of HIT. The company’s signature RIS is transforming the delivery of radiology in practices large and small, while its EPM and EHR solutions are at work in cardiology, pediatric, psychiatry, ophthalmology, OB or GYN and other specialty practices, clinics, and hospitals across the country. Aside from its technology platform, the company works closely with its Client Advisory Board to leverage AI, and share best practices and stay current on regulatory developments impacting the industry. And the company recently embarked on an initiative designed to re-image and revitalize EHR in the delivery of healthcare across the enterprise. “Our goal is to lead the HIT space by example,” says McGonigle. “The future is busy and bright for us.”
